Behind the Bottle Week One

It started with a notebook.

People see the finished product- a bag of cocktail mix, a logo, a website- and it's easy to think businesses start there.

Mine didn't.

Mine started with a notebook full of ideas, recipes that didn't work, and mostly questions.

Somewhere between working full time, bartending, and being a mom, I decided I was tired of saying "Maybe Someday."

So, I started!

Not because I knew exactly what I was doing, because I would regret never trying.

Since then, I've learned that building a business is a lot less glamourous than Instagram makes it look. There have been recipes poured down the drain, packaging decisions that kept me up at night, and moments where i wonder if anyone other than my friends will even buy what I'm creating.

But there have also been moments where I step back and realize this thing that used to live only in my head is becoming real.

That's a pretty incredible feeling.

So, if you're reading this while you're chasing your own dream- or maybe just thinking about taking the first step- I hope this encourages you.

You don't have to know everything.

You just have to be willing to begin.
